Tank Timeline — Privacy Policy

1. Publisher and contact

This policy describes the Tank Timeline iOS application and its support and legal pages. Tank Timeline does not require registration.

2. Information processed

The app stores aquarium names and settings; parameter selections, presets and reference ranges; dated water readings with units; maintenance notes, amounts and products; reminders; selected photos; and journal preferences. Notes and photos may contain personal information you choose to include. Please avoid entering sensitive information about other people.

These records are processed locally to display your journal, charts, comparisons, timers and reminders. Reference ranges are your chosen values, not a safety assessment.

Apple processes purchases. The app uses StoreKit product, transaction and entitlement information to unlock and restore Pro. We do not receive your payment-card details through the app.

3. Photos, notifications and files

You select photos through Apple's photo picker. The app stores copies of selected images, rather than uploading your entire photo library. Original photos remain in your library when an app copy is removed. Image files may contain metadata; do not assume it has been stripped before sharing a backup.

You can alternatively choose Take photo. Camera permission is requested only when you choose that option. A captured photo is attached to your journal when saved; it is not automatically added to your photo library. Camera access does not grant access to your entire photo library.

Notifications are optional and scheduled locally. Reminder content may be visible on your lock screen according to your device settings. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings.

When saving a task with notifications enabled for the first time, the app explains notifications before opening the iOS authorization request. Skipping that request or declining permission keeps the saved task in the in-app calendar without an alert. This does not request access to email or device calendars.

JSON backup export and JSON/CSV import are free. CSV export requires Pro. Files are generated or imported at your request. Exports may contain notes, measurements and, for JSON backups, photo data. A recipient or storage provider you select handles shared files under its own policies. Remove exported copies separately when no longer needed.

4. Local-first release

The release app does not automatically synchronize your journal between devices and does not upload it to a developer-hosted journal account. To move or preserve records, create a JSON backup and choose where to keep or import it. Internal development builds may contain experimental controls that are not part of the released service or its marketing claims.

5. Developer access and third parties

The current app has no advertising, third-party analytics SDK or developer-hosted journal backend. It does not sell journal data or use it for targeted advertising. Apple may process App Store and diagnostic information under Apple's policies and your settings.

If you contact support, we process your email address, message and any attachments you send to answer the request. Please do not send passwords, payment details or unnecessary personal records. These legal pages are hosted on Vercel. Visiting them sends technical request information, such as IP address, browser information and request time, to the hosting infrastructure for delivery and security. The pages contain no app-added analytics, advertising scripts or journal upload form. See the Vercel Privacy Policy. Support email is handled through Google Gmail; see the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Retention and deletion

Local journal records remain until you remove them or clear app data. Settings → Local data → Delete all local data removes local journal records and app photo copies. It does not delete original library images, exported files or Apple billing records, and it does not cancel a subscription.

There is no Tank Timeline account to delete. Device backups may retain earlier app copies under Apple's backup settings; manage those backups through Apple and your device settings.

Support correspondence is retained for as long as needed to resolve requests, meet applicable legal obligations and handle related disputes. You may request deletion by email. Hosting, email and Apple services may retain operational records under their own policies and applicable obligations.

7. Rights, legal bases and international processing

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correction, erasure, portability, restriction, objection and complaint to a data-protection authority. Contact the publisher above. We may request proportionate information to verify a request; we cannot retrieve a journal kept solely on your device through a developer account.

Where relevant law requires a legal basis, requested support and paid functionality are processed to perform the service contract; optional device access follows your permissions; legally required records are processed to comply with law. Website delivery and security processing supports the legitimate interest in operating a reliable support site. Providers may process information outside your country under their applicable policies and safeguards. Contact us for questions about processing or to exercise your rights.

8. Security, children and changes

Protect your device and Apple account. No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security. Tank Timeline is not directed at children; parents should supervise purchases and sharing of personal information. Contact the publisher if a child has sent personal information to support.

Material changes will be reflected in the policy date and communicated as required by applicable law. Your mandatory privacy rights are not limited by this policy.
